Deciduous shrub or small tree grow 2-8 m tall trunk 15 cm in diameter leaves green olive, arranged alternately on the branches, leaf blade 6-20 cm long and 2-7 cm wide, elliptic to oblong in shape Long thorns on the branches are up to 5-10 mm long flower red, orange, salmon pink fruit conical, truncated in the apex
