Single-stemmed, growing from 8-25 m tall, 17-22 cm in diameter leaves fan, wax, 40-70 cm  the inflorescence is almost 2 m long, flowers yellowish green fruit globular, a dark pulpous berry that contains a light-brown , 12 mm long ovoid seed

Ornamental Palm.  The plant yields a High quality wax which is used industrially. It is also commonly used by native people as a source of thatch, weaving material etc., and for its durable timber.
