Fast growing, deciduous tree to 6-10 m high Known for its striking blue-green branches leaves pinnately compound 25 cm long, leaflets 4-6 flowers pea-like pods  flat and not constricted between the seeds4-12 cm long, 1-15 cm wide

Remark: The tree is characterized by its leafless appearance for most of the year, with photosynthesis occurring in the bark, and its profuse, pea-like yellow flowers that appear in spring, attracting pollinators
