Deciduous tree grow 5-18 m height,trunk 05 m in diameter, mature 075 m leaves compound 2-3 pairs of pinnae with 1-2 pairs of leaflets per pinna flowers before the new leaves, yellowish white in elongated spikes fruits dark brown

Ornamental tree.  An ointment made from the roots has traditionally been used to treat convulsions. the wood hard drought- and termite -resistant but frost- tender. good bonsai. good quality firewood.
