Deciduous tree grow up to 10-20 m tall leaves large alternate, simple, broad ovate to elliptic, 10-15 cm,  tipe pointed flowers small white  in terminal cymes fruit red/brown drupe, about 7 mm across, containing 2-4 seeds, sweet fragrant

Ornamental tree. Edible fruit has a taste and texture similar to raisins. young foliage and fruits are edible, a substitute for honey.  woody tree. Shade tree. Planted as a pioneer species in reforestation projects in Thailand. The wood is hard and fine grained. It is good for making fine furniture and in construction. The fruit is up to 3 cm long, it contains 11.4% glucose, 4.7% fructose and 12.6% sucrose. The seed contains 15% protein and 7.8% fat.
