Evergreen or semi evergreen,  small tree grow up to 6-13 m tall, 90 cm in diameter leaves dark green, elliptic or ovate, Their upper surfaces are remarkably rough, feeling like low-grade sandpaper flowers white in panicles or cymes fruit edible, drupe, spherical, 8 mm in diameter       

edible fruits, sweet and rather juicy but it has a thin flesh. Good jams. indoor bonsai. source of wood used  for tool handles,  yokes, axles, etc. Anacua (Ehretia anacua) is a tree that flourishes in subtropical locations. It’s sometimes referred to as the “Sandpaper Tree” because of the roughness of its leaves.
