Evergreen medium-sized tree up to 20 m high with a dense canopy leaves sessile 7-15 mm long 25-6 mm wide, sharply pointed tips flowers cream or white cylindrical spikes 2-5 cm long capsules woody

Ornamental plant. Street tree. With attractive bark, foliage and flowers, it is a good tree for the garden, for containers.  Its prickly leaves provide a safe place for birds to nest.
