Ornamental plant. used in furniture, guitar marking, and other fine woodcrafts. The interest in and planting of red ceiba is restricted to its natural distribution. It was trialed in the Solomon Islands but did not show any promise as a plantation species. Shade or shelter: In other occasions, the trees have been left standing to give shade in coffee
