Evergreen tree grow up to 6-21 m with a rounded  tp spreading and dense crown leaves simple, glossy, dark green, slightly leathery, elliptic, slightly oblanceolate fig in leaf axils, sometimes below the leaves, sessile, yellow or red, globose

Ornamental tree.  A good jam can be made from the ripe fruits. Livestock eat the dry leaves on the ground and to a lesser degree fresh leaves. Branches are used for firewood. Bark fibre is used for making mats.
