Evergreen tree growing up to 15 m tall leaves oblong, simple, thick, 12 cm long, 3-6 cm wide flower creamy -white, star-shaped, borne in small clusters on the leaf axils fruits edlble, oval, pointed  2-3 cm long, green to orange-red when ripe, seeds dark brown      

Ornamental tree. Planted along roadsides. edible fruit. The leaves, flowers, bark and seeds are variously used in local medicines.
