Evergreen dioecious tree up to 6-20 m leaves blue-green or grey-green, narrowly oblong-elliptic, 30-60 mm long, 3-5 mm broad female cones are solitary, also borne in the leaf axils, on a naked stalk 4-6 mm long, male cones are about 25 x 3 mm, cream to pinkish when fresh and are solitary or in groups of 2 - 5 in leaf axils
