Semi Deciduous tree with a rounded crown and long, pendulous branches, growing to 10-18 m leaves  2-5 cm long, 1-3 cm broad, leathery, lustrous green single-toothed flowers small greenish, fruit samara, elliptic to ovate-elliptic, 10-13 long by 6-8 mm broad
Ph: mildly acid, neutral an mildly alkaline
Soil: light sandy, medium loamy and heavy clay soils
Grown as an ornamental in gardens and as a shade and street tree. The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials, whilst the tree is harvested on a commercial basis for its wood. Erosion control.
