Deciduous or semi deciduous tree to 30 m high, leaves 2-pinnate, stipules auriculate, very prominent, pinkish-orange, leaflets narrowly elliptical 1mm long flower yellow-green, tomentose to hirsute panicle , fruit a pod 7-20 cm long, flat, yellowish-brown

Ornamental tree. Leaves being readily eaten by goats . is widely grown as a shade and street tree, for erosion control, for its light but termite resistant wood and for forage.
