Semi-deciduous tree growing 3-30 m high, 50 cm in diameter leaves ovate 10 - 25 cm long and 7 - 20 cm wide, leaves on young plants tend to be strongly lobed, 2 large glands at the base of each leaf flowers yellow- brown  borne in axillary  and terminal panicle fruit drupe , yellow about 10-25 mm wide contains 1-3 seeds

Ornamental tree. Edible fruits. wood is used for firewood and production of good quality pulp. leaves used as fodder for cattle.
