Evergreen small tree up to 12 m tall leaves oblong, obtuse and shortly acuminate, coriaceous flowers white , dark red petioles, cymes axillary and terminal, few flowered fruit follicles purplish-black, glabrous , 75-85 cm long

•Ornamental, sweet scented flowers. The tree is harvested from the wild for its latex and timber, which are used locally. A latex obtained from the stems is used to make rubber. The wood is used for fuel.
