Evergreen dioecious  tree grows up to 15 m tall,  60 cm in diameter leaves compound with 4-8 pairs of opposite leaflets flowers small yellow, in branched sprays near the ends of the branches fruits first appear green and then turn  red when they ripen in autumn, contain a single seed
