Evergreen shrub or small tree up to 8 m tall leaves 4-10 cm long, ovate to round in shape flowers fragrant,  yellow,  arranged in cymes fruit drupe,  globular, white  8-12 mm across, containing 1-4 seeds

Ornamental plant, The plant is used for reforestation and as a living fence. The resin of the fruit is used as glue and as hair gel. The latex of the fruit is used as a paper glue.
