Evergreen small tree, up to  15 - 30m tall, 70 cm in diameter Leaves oblanceolate, 7-30 cm long, emerging pink in colour, and gradually turning beige then to dark green eventually flowers creamy white , fragrant fruits round 5-75 cm in diameter

Ornamental tree. The wood is sometimes used in guitar manufacturing for its distinctive patterns. It is suitable for parks and streetscapes for its attractive new leaves that are pink in colour, as well as its dense conical crown.
