Evergreen tree to 6-15 m tall leaves lanceolate , wavy margins, leaf tip is long and thin, while leaf base  rounded flowers pale green to greenish yellow , star- shaped fruits  smooth ovoid to ellipsoid 2-25 cm long , 15 cm wide

Grown as an ornamental . Wood used to make pencils, boxes, matches and drum cylinders.
