Evergreen shrub or small tree 3-8 m tall with a much branched crown spiny shrub flowers creamy-green

Established plants are drought resistant Tolerant of sea breezes, salt spray and saline soils 

Mostly used for live fences and hedges. Fruits are  often eaten fresh or sprinkled with sugar to complement their natural acidity. Leaves used as fodder.
