Evergreen climber  up to 20 m, with drooping branches leaves compound, leaflets 7-13 Flowers are in short branches, bisexual and whitish or pinkish Fruits are narrowly oblong with a broad wing along one side

The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine and an insecticide. It is sometimes cultivated as an ornamental . Leaves  are used as fodder.This species has a symbiotic relationship with certain soil bacteria these bacteria form nodules on the roots and fix atmospheric nitrogen. Some of this nitrogen is utilized by the growing plant but some can also be used by other plants growing nearby.
