Semi-evergreen vine, to 3-5 m high leaves compound, 3-5 leaflets, glossy, 5-8 cm long flowers white , star shaped, sweetly fragrant, borne in branching panicles 

The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food and medicine and as an ingredient in commercial cosmetic products. The plant is grown as an ornamental. An extract of the flowers is used as an ingredient in commercial cosmetic preparations as a skin protector.
